Every puzzle hides a word whose letters are all different. Each row, each column and each box marked by bold lines contains every letter of that word once.

The numbered orange cells, read in order, spell the hidden word. The theme tag tells you what the word is about.

If you guess the word correctly before all the orange cells are filled, you earn bonus points for every letter that is still hidden. A wrong guess counts as a mistake, so only guess when you're fairly sure.

Notes are yours. Turn on note mode and add any letters you like to a cell.

Candidates show, in grey, every letter that could go in a cell according to the rules. Tap the Candidates button once to show them and again to hide them. Your notes are not affected.

Easy is a 6×6 grid, Medium 8×8 and Hard 9×9. Every puzzle has a single solution and can be solved without guessing. Difficulty is set by the most advanced technique needed to solve it.

Puzzle language (the hidden words, the daily puzzle and your Word Book): tap the globe button on the main menu or go to Settings > Puzzle language. You can choose English, Spanish, German, French or Turkish.

Interface language (menus and buttons) follows your iPhone's language. To change it only for WODOKU, go to Settings > Interface language in the App, or iPhone Settings > Apps > WODOKU > Language.

No. In Spanish and French puzzles the grid uses letters without accents, as in crosswords, so "education" counts for "éducation". The Spanish Ñ and the German Ä, Ö and Ü are separate letters. In German, "ß" is read as "ss".

A new puzzle opens every day at midnight (by your phone's clock). Everyone playing in the same language gets the same puzzle that day. Your streak grows as you solve the daily puzzle on consecutive days, in any language; miss a day and it resets.

You get 3 free hints every day. When they run out, you can watch a short ad to earn 2 more. With WODOKU Plus, hints are unlimited.

No ads are shown until you finish your first puzzle. After that, a slim banner sits at the very bottom of the game screen, clear of the board and the letter keys. Full-screen ads never interrupt a puzzle: after your first three puzzles they may appear once a puzzle is finished, at most once every three puzzles and at least four minutes apart.

Rewarded ads only play when you choose to watch one.

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and switch WODOKU on or off. If you're in Europe, you can also update your consent in the App under Settings > Ad privacy choices.

Ad-free play, unlimited hints and the archive of every daily puzzle you missed. There are monthly, yearly (first week free) and lifetime options.

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, go to Settings > your name (Apple Account) > Subscriptions > WODOKU.

After cancelling, you keep Plus until the end of the current period. If you cancel during the free trial, you won't be charged.

Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account, then tap Settings > Restore Purchases in the App.

Refunds are handled by Apple. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your saved games, statistics and Word Book are stored only on your phone. If you delete the App, this data is deleted too. Your Game Center scores and achievements are linked to your Apple Account and are kept.

Make sure you're signed in under Settings > Game Center on your iPhone. Scores are sent when you finish a puzzle and can take a few minutes to appear.

In the App, go to Settings > Daily reminder to switch it off or change the time. If you've already solved that day's puzzle, no reminder is sent.
